Automated reporting, from the sources cited below. How this paper is made.

Salt Lake County's certified sample ballot for Herriman precinct 1 lists three candidates under County Council At-Large A: Kathleen Anderson (Republican), Zach Robinson (Democrat) and Gregory Beglarian (Constitution) 1. The same ballot carries a county bond question that would authorize up to $128,000,000 in general obligation bonds for open space, parks, trails and recreation facilities 1.

The council has nine members. Three at-large members are elected to represent the entire county for six-year terms, and six district members represent geographic districts for four-year terms, the county states 2. At-Large A is currently held by Laurie Stringham, who is listed as the At-Large A member on the county's council page 2. She is not among the names printed on the Nov. 3 ballot 1.

Anderson won the Republican nomination for the seat at the Salt Lake County Republican Party's nominating convention in April, defeating Stringham, a countywide representative whose hopes for reelection ended there, The Salt Lake Tribune reported on April 21 3. Anderson's campaign describes her as a small business owner who has lived in Salt Lake County for 36 years and says she is running to bring "common sense, accountability, and taxpayer respect" back to county government, with a platform built on lower taxes, safer public spaces, honest budgeting and support for local business 4.

Robinson won the Democratic nomination at the county party's convention with 537 votes to Nate Salazar's 403, or 57 percent to 43 percent, according to the Salt Lake County Democratic Party's published results, which also show Tenille Taggart, Garry Hrechkosy and Allison Sabo eliminated at the convention 5. His campaign describes him as a former Sandy City Council member and a firefighter 6.

The campaign's stated priorities are restoring county child care and senior services, advocating for affordable housing, supporting property tax relief for vulnerable residents, opposing the Little Cottonwood Canyon gondola project, water conservation, improving air quality, and stopping a proposed ICE detention facility in Salt Lake County, along with public safety resources, school route safety and mental health programs 6.

Robinson set out his case for the seat in a commentary published by The Salt Lake Tribune on Sept. 26, headlined "From the firehouse to city government, I've run toward problems. That's the mindset I'll bring to the Salt Lake County Council." 7. The Tribune's caption on that piece identifies him as a candidate for County Council At-Large A and records him speaking at the Salt Lake County Democratic Party's convention at Highland High School on April 11, 2026 7. The commentary is the candidate's own statement, published by the Tribune; the Ledger cites it as the campaign argument that raised the race, not as this paper's reporting 7.

Beglarian, the Constitution Party candidate, appears on the county's certified ballot; the Ledger could locate no campaign website for him 1.

The county describes the sample ballots as certified by the clerk and dated Tuesday, November 3, 2026 1. Its ballot note directs voters to check slco.vote for the names of any candidates who withdraw after ballots are printed 1.
